More Than Grant Writers began through conversations within the Community-Centric Fundraising space (thank you, Susan and Scott for lighting that fire!). We realised we were frustrated by similar themes in the grants profession that harmed the communities we served. We resolved that by coming together, learning and supporting each other using Community-Centric Fundraising principles as our framework, we could amplify our voices for change!

We participated in 2023’s Grant Professionals Association (GPA) GrantSummit as an exhibitor table where we shared this initiative and we launched a nationwide call the following week online. Since then we’ve been gathering momentum and we’re so excited, thrilled and heartened by the response so far!

We’re aware of the extreme inequity of current world events and that speaking out has cost many in our communities. We are run entirely on organizer’s volunteer time. Most, if not all of us have full time jobs. Often what we choose to respond is governed by timeliness, assessed potential efficacy, and our ability as a core group of organizers to support and coordinate collective action.

We are super grateful for all the input and comments we and do our best to educate ourselves and gather information where we can in hopes that we can share resources, and support efforts wherever they take place.
